Helpful Tips and Features in OneNote
Add a note anywhere on the page. Just click and type – it’s just like sitting in front of a notepad with a pen. If you choose to use OneNote on a tablet, use your stylus as a pen to write notes.
- Every page has a Title Placeholder in the upper left that includes an auto-populated date and time stamp.
- Change the date/time by left-clicking each field.
- Choose the new date/time with the appropriate field pickers.
- This comes in handy when you start a notebook page prior to its use. Ex – Set up a meeting notes page a week prior to the meeting, so you won’t have to worry about it the day of the meeting. You’ll want to change the date and time to reflect the meeting date.
- New Section: Click on the small tab with "*". A new section will form in your Notebook. Right-click on the new tab to rename it.
- New Page: A new Untitled page will appear at the bottom of your page list. Use the Title placeholder to name the new page.
- Search your notes by Keywords. A list of pages will appear with your keyword highlighted in yellow.
