Background Information
Microsoft Outlook offers a feature called Screen Clipping. Screen clipping can be used when taking a screenshot of a portion of the screen. (Example: zoom in on one area of the screen rather than clip the entire screen.) This Job Aide lists the steps needed to take a screen clipping from Outlook.
Screen Clipping Steps
- Open a New Email:
- Click on New Email in the Outlook Mail Home Tab, OR
- If you are replying to an email, from the Email Preview, click Pop-Out to pull open a new window of the email.
- In the Message Ribbon, navigate to the Insert Tab.
- Click on the Take a Screen Shot icon. This icon is located in the lower right of the Illustration section.
- To take a screen clipping of a portion of a program window, select Screen Clipping from the bottom of the Take a Screenshot drop-down.
- The screen will wash-out and a thin plus sign (crosshair) will replace the cursor arrow. Use this crosshair to select the area on the screen by left-clicking the mouse and dragging to highlight the area to clip.
