OneDrive - Move Files From ShareFile

Background Information

Microsoft OneDrive is a secure platform to store and share large and/or confidential files. Current ShareFile users should move files stored in ShareFile to OneDrive in preparation for the ShareFile decommission.

Log Into the OneDrive App

1. Click the Start menu and type OneDrive.
2. Open the OneDrive App.
3. Log into OneDrive.
4. Open File Explorer to confirm OneDrive is displayed in the left-hand Navigation Panel. If it is not, restart your computer and confirm again.

​​​​Download Folders or Files From ShareFile

1. Navigate to ShareFile and log in.
2. Select Personal Folders in the left-hand navigation bar.
3. In the Personal Folders screen, download a folder.
   • Check the box next to the folders to download.
   • Click the Download button in the Global Options bar above the folder list. 
     • Note: You may need to download one folder at a time. Folders that contain Microsoft Office documents will download faster than folders containing images, videos, or meeting recordings.
   • The folder will appear in the lower-left corner of your screen and displays the download progress. When the yellow folder has a completed blue circle, it has finished downloading.
   • Double-click the folder to open it in File Explorer.​​​

Extract Folder and Save to OneDrive

1. The contents of the downloaded folder appear in the main panel of the File Explorer window.
2. The Extract Tab appears in the File Explorer ribbon.
3. Click the Extract All button, located to the right in the Extract Tab.
4. In the Extract window, click the Browse button to select a location for the downloaded folder or files.
   • Select OneDrive from the left-hand navigation panel of File Explorer. The folders you have created in OneDrive appear in the main panel of the File Explorer window. Select an existing folder, and click the Select Folder option, or create a new folder.
5. Once the folder is created or selected, click the Extract button.
6. A new File Explorer window will open and display the files that have been extracted in the new OneDrive location.
