Relay - Indoor Beacon Overview & Configuration

Body

Background Information

The following Job Aide provides an overview of a Relay beacon device and how to configure the device to an indoor location.

Beacon Overview

The Enterprises utilize the XL Relay beacon device.

Beacons cover a specific area using a Bluetooth signal. No cell phone or WiFi signal is needed to have beacons operate accordingly with Relay devices.

Beacons are battery-powered using AA batteries. In the Dash Relay Dashboard, admin users can monitor the battery life of each beacon and be alerted when batteries need to be replaced for a beacon.

Beacon Configuration

Beacons can be individually configured in the DASH Relay Dashboard; they can be configured to a specific room or indoor location for accuracy when working with Relay devices in a panic emergency.

All beacons must be powered on prior to configuration of beacons.
