Send Word Now - Sending Alerts From Mobile Devices

Background Information

The Send Word Now application for the iPhone and Android Smartphones, allows you to initiate alerts and monitor their status from your handheld device. This Job Aide walks you through the steps to send alerts from your smartphone, through the Send Word Now application.

Sending an Alert Using an iPhone

  1. Select the “New Message” button from the main page
  2. Select the groups or individuals that will receive the alert
  3. Enter the Subject for the alert
  4. Compose the alert to be sent
    • The message field is limited to 1000 characters
  5. When you have completed your message and are ready to send, hit the “Send” button.

Sending an Alert Using an Android Device

  1. Select the “New Message” button from the main page
  2. Select the groups or individuals that will receive the alert
  3. Once the recipients have been selected select the “Done” button, then “Next”
  4. Enter the Subject for the alert
  5. Compose the alert to be sent
    • The message field is limited to 1000 characters
  6. When you have completed your message and are ready to send, hit the “Send” button.
