CMP - Assessing Player Worth

Background Information

A critical factor to determine whether a comp should be issued is to assess a player’s overall worth to Casino Arizona/Talking Stick Resort. The decision is not based on strict standards but by evaluating multiple criteria that is tracked by Casino Marketplace. This Job Aid outlines the location of this information and includes questions to ask to decipher this information.

Player Totals

The Player Totals screen is the single most important source of player information.

Accessing Player Totals

  1. Search for the Player
  2. Press F10 to open the Player Period Totals window

Customizing the Results

  1. Click Show up to 4 to change the length of time viewed (e.g., Trip, Quarter, Year, etc.)
  2. Click Through to view a period of time in the past
  3. Click Casino to review totals by site (e.g., IND, MCK)
  4. Click Dept to see where play is coming from (e.g., ALL, SLOT, TABL)

Please see example within the attached pdf. Factors to consider from this example include the following. Generally, the higher the number, the higher the player worth.

  • Cash Buy In – How much cash is the player putting through the machines? (NOTE: data only goes back to 2008)
  • Avg Bet per Play – Lower numbers often indicate slot play, higher numbers are generally table games.
  • Casino Net – Is the Casino ahead (positive number) or is the Player ahead (negative number)?
  • Time – How long did the player play over the set time frame (NOTE: time is measured in hours)
  • Action Days – How many days did the player play during the selected time frame?
