Background Information

Delinea is an application that stores and helps you manage your usernames/passwords. Delinea will allow you to store as many usernames and passwords (referred to as “Secrets”) as you have, while keeping them secure in lieu of writing them down or typing them into a spreadsheet. This Job Aide will walk you through the steps to start using Delinea.

Getting Started and Logging In

  1. Go to https://cazdelinea/secretserver/
  2. In the Username section, enter your Active Directory Username.
  3. In the Password section, enter your Active Directory Password.
  4. In the Domain dropdown, select Casino.
  5. You will be emailed a 6 digit Pin Code. Enter that Pin Code into the Pin Code field and select Log In.
  6. The first time you Log On, you will see a welcome screen giving you an overview of Delinea.  Select Continue to continue to the home screen.

Secrets Page

Delinea's Secrets Page is the user’s primary functional resource for storing and using passwords, which are known as Secrets.

  1. Hover your mouse over Secrets on the left-hand navigation panel. This will present a menu to the right of folders in which your secrets are stored.
  2. The application defaults to All Secrets, including shared and personal secrets. Select a menu option to navigate to directly or select a folder you would like to work within located under the Folders header.
    • Sub-folders can only be created from your Personal Folder:
      • Hover your mouse over your Personal Folder.
      • Right-click your mouse to open an additional menu.
      • Select Add Subfolder to create a new sub-folder.
      • Enter subfolder name.
      • Select Create new folder.
  3. The right-hand panel will present the folder and the secrets stored within. This section gives the user multiple options to use Secrets including creating, showing favorites, showing recent, and showing expired.
  4. To keep your Secrets navigational panel permanently pinned/opened, select Secrets. Then, select the Double Arrow icon at the bottom left corner of the screen.

Creating Website Secrets

To add a new Password/Secret to a folder, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to desired folder.
  2. In the upper right side of the home dashboard, select Create Secret.
  3. From this list, select the Web Password option.
    • Selecting the correct type of Secret is important based on the type of account/username/password you are saving.
  4. In the Secret Name field, enter the name of the application or website you are creating a Secret for.
  5. In the URL field, enter the website’s URL (you can copy the URL from the web source you are using and paste it here).
  6. In the Username field, enter your Username for this website.
  7. In the Password field, enter your Password for this website.
    • You can also have Delinea generate a new, secure password for you by selecting Generate.
  8. If there are additional Notes you’d like to add, enter them in the Notes field.
  9. Select Create Secret to save your Secret.

Modifying Delinea Secrets

  1. From the Dashboard of Delinea, select the folder your Secret is contained in.
  2. Select the Secret you would like to modify by selecting the name of the Secret which is hyperlinked.
  3. The selected Secret dashboard appears. From this screen, you will see the full profile of the Secret. You can edit individual aspects of your Secret by selecting the Pen Icon next to any of the fields.
    OR
    You can modify all fields by selecting Edit in the upper right corner if you are modifying multiple aspects of your Secret.
  4. After making any desired changes, select Save.

Using Delinea Secrets

  1. From the Dashboard of Delinea, select the folder your Secret is contained in.
  2. Select the Secret you would like to use by selecting the hyperlinked name of the Secret under the Name section.
  3. Select the Clipboard Icon along the Secret row. This will instantly copy your password.
  4. You can select the website URL in the URL section to redirect to that website. From there, you can paste the copied password in the password box of that login screen.
  5. If a Secret is commonly used, you can Favorite the Secret by selecting the Star Icon next to the hyperlinked name of the Secret.
