Background Information
Windows 10 has introduced a feature called “Tiles”. Tiles are best likened to shortcut buttons, clicking a tile will take you directly to the location it is linked too. This Job Aide will walk you through the steps necessary to create tiles from websites.
Section and Steps
When you are on a website and you’d like to save this page as a shortcut tile on your start menu follow these steps.
- Click on the ellipsis icon in the top right of the Google Chrome window
- Click on “More Tools”.
- Click on “Create Shortcut”.
- Enter the Name you’d like to use for this shortcut. If you chose not to name it, Google Chrome will set a default name.
- Click “Create”. This will drop a shortcut icon on your desktop.
- Locate the shortcut icon on your desk, and right click it.
- Click “Pin to Start”.
- Your New Tile will appear in the Tiles section of the Start Menu.
