Outlook - Mobile App - Using Outlook Mobile App on IOS Devices

Background Information

Adding Outlook Mobile App to a mobile device will allow users to access, read, reply, and use company email from a Mobile device while on or off company property, while connected to a mobile service provider or WiFi.  This Job Aide walks through the steps to set up the Outlook Mobile App on an IOS device. 

Removing Exchange

If you currently use Exchange on your mobile device, you will experience various error notifications and other issues asking for passwords after you’ve been migrated to Exchange Online. For the time being, your calendar, contacts, and email will all error and your password will not work. You will need to remove Exchange before downloading the Outlook Mobile App. The following steps should be followed prior to adding Outlook to your phone.

  1. From the home screen of your iPhone, Tap "Settings".
  2. Scroll down the settings options to “Mail” and Tap it.
  3. Scroll down the Mail options to “Accounts” and Tap it.
  4. Locate your Exchange account and Tap it.
  5. At the bottom of the screen, tap “Delete Account”.
  6. A confirmation screen will pop up notifying you that you are about to delete Contacts and Calendar.  Tap “Delete from My iPhone”.

 

Downloading Outlook Mobile App on iPhone

Using the camera app on your phone, scan the following QR Code.  This will open the Microsoft Outlook Mobile App in your App Store.

  1. On the Microsoft Outlook Page, tap “Get”.
  2. On the App Store pop-up, tap “Install”.
  3. When the app has completed downloading, tap “Open”.
  4. At the Add Account screen, enter your Windows account username + @casinoaz.com (Ex: ChristopherV@casinoaz.com) in the “Email” section, and Tap “Add Account”.
  5. In the password screen enter your windows password and tap “Sign In”.
  6. You will be given a two-digit code to authorize this sign in with your Microsoft Authenticator App.  Open Authenticator and approve the sign in using the two digits you’d received.  Once Authorized return to the Outlook App.
  7. At the Add Another Account screen, tap “Maybe Later”.
  8. You will then receive a pop-up explaining the organization is protecting your data, and you must restart the app.  Tap “Ok”.  Then from the home screen of your phone, tap the Microsoft Outlook app icon to open the app.
  9. You will receive a pop-up explaining The IT Administrator is now helping to protect your data.  Tap “OK”.
  10. Outlook will ask you to create a pin to access the app.  Create a 4-digit pin and enter it into the app.
  11. The next screen will ask you to confirm the pin created.  Re-enter the pin you’ve created for the app.
  12. A pop-up will appear asking you to “Enable Notifications”.  Tap “Turn On”.
  13. Another pop-up will appear asking if you’ll allow Notifications.  Tap “Allow”.
  14. You will see you E-mail populate to the app.  You have completed the download and setup process.

Saving Contacts to Your Phone From the Outlook App

To save your Outlook Contacts to your iPhone Contacts App follow these steps:

  1. From your Outlook App, tap the “profile icon” in the top left corner of your screen.
  2. From your profile, tap the “settings” gear icon in the lower left corner of your screen.
  3. In the settings screen, tap your Microsoft account listed under “Mail Accounts”. 
    • Note – Your account is identified by your Microsoft account address including the “@casinoaz.com”
  4. In the Account Settings screen, locate the “Save Contacts” option and tap the toggle switch to on.
  5. A pop-up will appear asking if you’d like to save contacts to phone.  Tap “Save to my iPhone”.
  6. Another pop-up will appear asking if you’d like Outlook to access your Contacts.  Tap “OK”.
  7. Your Outlook contacts will then download to your iPhone “Contacts” App.
