Background Information
The following Job Aide details how to set up the TSR Showroom Audio & Equipment, specifically for sports and/or games set-up, using the production sound system.
AMP Rack Set-Up Procedure
For this setup, you will be using the first two Amp Racks (top blue rectangle) as well as the LAKE and XTA (bottom blue square).
- Power on the Amp Racks:
- Locate the power buttons on the left side of each amp, just below the LA12X font (yellow oval).
- To power on the amps, press and hold the power button for 2-3 seconds. The red light will change to yellow. Yellow means that it is starting up. You can let go of the button once the light changes from red to yellow. Once the amps have started up, the light will go from yellow to green to indicate that they have power.
- Pictures of this procedure are shown in the attached pdf.
- The picture in the attached pdf indicates what you should see once you’ve successfully powered on the amps.
XTA / Switcher Set-Up Procedure
For this setup, you will change only one setting on the first XTA (yellow rectangle). The only section you need to change on the XTA is the switcher (blue oval).
- Set up the XTA / Switcher
- The image below shows what the switcher will look like when you first locate it. Below the A/B/C buttons is a lock button (red arrow).
- Press and hold the lock button. The light will turn off.
- Select the “C” button.
- After selecting the “C” button, press and hold the lock button to re-engage the lock feature.
Video Panel Set-Up Procedure
For this setup, you will locate the Audio Controls section (yellow rectangle) in the video panel.
- Under the Audio Zones column, select Showroom Stage Out 3.
- Select Audio Volume from the bottom right corner.
- The volume for the Showroom Stage Out 3 will most likely be muted. Bring the volume down to zero, then unmute.
- Once the volume is set to 0% and has been unmuted, go back to the two amp racks and unmute them.
Unmuting the AMPs Procedure
The Amps are muted when you turn them on. The white lights indicate that they are currently muted, as shown below (yellow rectangle). Follow this procedure to unmute the amps.
- Below each white light is a numbered Out button. Press and hold each button for 1-2 seconds to unmute.
- The white lights will turn off and the Amps have officially been unmuted.
Unmuting the LAKE Procedure
After unmuting the Amps, return to the rack with the XTA and LAKE. The LAKE is located right above the XTA.
The LAKE will be muted. This is indicated by the red-lit square buttons (red arrow). Before unmuting the LAKE, you should signal flow which can be seen with green lights that will be fluctuating up and down (blue rectangle).
Once the signal flow has been confirmed, then proceed with unmuting the LAKE. If there is no signal flow, return to the Video Panel and bring the volume up to 5-10%. Then, unmute the LAKE by pressing the red-light square buttons which then turn white.
Setting Volume Procedure
Once the LAKE has been unmuted, return to the Video Panel and bring the volume up to a desired setting.
Typically, the volume is set around 30-35%. Then, it can gradually be increased throughout the day with the volume set no higher than 60%.
Normally, we set the final game anywhere between 42-50%.
Congratulations! You’ve successfully set up the TSR Showroom Audio for upcoming sport/game viewing.
Shutting Down Procedure
After the game(s) have finished, bring the volume down on the Video Panel. The volume does not need to be zero, but low enough that when you go to mute the sound system, it’s not sudden.
Once you have brought down the volume, complete the following:
- Mute the LAKE (square buttons will go from white to red).
- Mute the Amps (no light to white light).
- Turn Amps OFF once they have been muted.
- Unlock the XTA / switcher and de-select the “C” button (A/B/C buttons should not be lit).
- Re-engage the lock button on the switcher.
You have successfully shut down the TSR Showroom Audio & Equipment.
