Crestron - F&B Conference Room - Using TV & Displays

Background Information

The Crestron Touch Panel can be used to connect directly to Microsoft Teams Meetings or can be connected to external devices to share content on the screen(s). The following Job Aide details how to connect to Microsoft Teams Meetings in the F&B Conference Room by using either the Crestron Touch Panel or by connecting an external device to the Crestron system. This Job Aide also explains how to properly launch and navigate the TV display in the conference room.

Using the TCL TV Display

Each input of the TCL TV display can connect you to a device you’d like to use to share a screen, launch a meeting, display laptop information, etc.

  1. Locate the TCL logo at the center/bottom of the display. Directly underneath the logo, behind the clear square, is the power button. Press the power button to power on the display.
  2. The Zoom Camera screen automatically appears. To change the input, press the TCL power button again to open the Input Menu.
  3. Press the TCL power button to navigate down the input menu.
  4. Once your desired input is highlighted, do not press the TCL power button again. Leave the desired input highlighted and the display will automatically navigate to that input after a few seconds (note the countdown to the right of the highlighted input).
  5. Follow steps 2-4 to navigate to other inputs or power off the display.

Connect to Meetings Using Crestron Touch Panel

When using the Crestron Touch Panel, you can only connect directly to a Teams call. Ensure the TCL display is powered on before following these steps:

  1. Navigate to Touch Panel from the TCL Input Menu to launch the Touch Panel input screen.
  2. Select Meet Now from the Crestron Touch Panel Home Screen to launch a new Teams Meeting.
    • The host of the Teams Meeting is Resource – Talking Stick F&B Operations Conference Room.
  3. Invite attendees to the Teams Meeting by:
    • Entering a phone number in the upper righthand corner of the screen, using the search field.
    • Entering the name of a Team Member and selecting that Team Member from the drop-down menu in the upper righthand corner of the screen, using the search field.
    • Provide the Teams Meeting dial-in phone number, Conference ID, and/or Meeting ID with Passcode, if desired, from the display to attendees.
  4. The Teams Meeting will automatically appear on the display.

Connect to F&B Conference Room PC

When using the conference room’s PC, ensure the TCL display is powered on before following these steps:

  1. Navigate to Room PC from the TCL Input Menu to launch the Room PC input screen.
  2. Press a key on the conference room keyboard or move the conference room mouse to power on the PC. Windows will automatically appear on the tv display.
  3. Log into the PC using your Windows credentials.
  4. Proceed as needed.

Connect to Meetings / Share Screen Content Using External Device

  1. Locate the HDMI cable connected to the Crestron system near the Crestron Touch Panel and connect it to the external device, such as a laptop.
  2. The external device content will automatically appear on the display. If it does not automatically appear, select Share from the Crestron Touch Panel Home Screen to share the content to the display.
  3. Open the Teams Meeting from the external device as normal.
