Background Information
The Crestron Touch Panel can be used to connect directly to Microsoft Teams Meetings or can be connected to external devices to share content on the screen(s). The following Job Aide details how to connect to Microsoft Teams Meetings in the Executive Board Room by using either the Crestron Touch Panel or by connecting an external device to the Crestron system.
Connect to Meetings Using Crestron Touch Panel
*Note – When using the Crestron Touch Panel, you can only connect directly to a Teams call.
- Select Meet Now from the Crestron Touch Panel Home Screen to launch a new Teams Meeting.
- The host of the Teams Meeting is Resource – Talking Stick Executive Board Room.
- Invite attendees to the Teams Meeting by:
- Entering a phone number in the upper righthand corner of the screen, using the search field.
- Entering the name of a Team Member and selecting that Team Member from the drop-down menu in the upper righthand corner of the screen, using the search field.
- Provide the Teams Meeting dial-in phone number, Conference ID, and/or Meeting ID with Passcode, if desired, from the display to attendees.
- The Teams Meeting will automatically appear on the display to the right.
- The Camera will automatically activate once a Teams Meeting launches. To adjust the Camera settings:
- Navigate to the Crestron Touch Panel Home Screen.
- Select Room Controls.
- Select Cameras.
- Adjust sightline, depth, and position of camera using the navigational options.
- Select back to return to the Crestron Touch Panel Home Screen.
Connect to Meetings / Share Screen Content Using External Device
- Locate the HDMI Mini cable connected to the Crestron system near the Crestron Touch Panel and connect it to the external device, such as a laptop.
- *NOTE: The external device may have to be configured to display content on multiple displays. Please see the Configuring Displays section of this Job Aide for assistance with configuring displays.
- The external device content will automatically appear on the display(s). If it does not automatically appear, select Share from the Crestron Touch Panel Home Screen, to share the content to the display(s).
- Open the Teams Meeting from the external device as normal.
- The Camera will automatically activate once a Teams Meeting launches.
- *NOTE: See previous section for details on how to adjust the Camera.
Configuring Displays While Connected to an External Device
- Before connecting any external device, navigate to the Crestron Touch Panel Home Screen.
- Select Room Controls.
- Select Displays.
- Confirm the Power bar is activated for both the Left and Right displays.
- Select Table 2 for the Left display.
- Select Air Media for the Right display.
- Connect the external device to the Crestron system.
- Select the Start Menu from the device’s Windows screen.
- Select Settings.
- Select System.
- Identify the display numbers by selecting Identify under the arrangement section of the Display menu. Review the external device screen and the two displays for their identifying numbers.
- The correct arrangement to utilize all displays is shown in the attached pdf.
- Under the Multiple Displays section, select drop-down and select Duplicate Desktop on 1 and 3.
- Close Settings window.
